a library of e-books and essays on the life of compassion and creativity
|
Welcome to Karuna Books, an on-line library of free PDF and HTML e-books and essays about issues of enduring human concern and aspiration, as well as featuring artists whose work opens up new avenues of perception. You will find books here about communication skills, reverence for life, new forms of prayer, conscientious objection to organized killing (war), liberation
theology, and much more. Some of the books and essays here are
written by me, some are written by dear friends interested in participating in the new global mind,
and some are classics that have become available in free PDF
editions. As a public service to the peoples of Planet Earth, all the PDF and HTML files listed on this site are available free of charge, wherever they may actually be located on the Internet. You are welcome to print as many copies as you may need for personal, study group or school use. (We reserve the sole right to sell printed copies of our manuscripts.) As the site evolves over the coming years you will be able to purchase printed copies from various links that will appear after each title. ([p] indicates printed copies now available for purchase at a document's home page
or some subset of of Lulu, Trafford and/or Amazon Books.) Karuna means compassion in Sanskrit, and the Tibetan prayer shown in our logo, Om Mani Padme Hum, affirms each person's infinite connectedness with the universal Heart of Being. In offering our writing to everyone without charge, the authors and artists represented here affirm our deep connectedness to everyone. Without a humanity yearning for love, freedom, awareness, insight and creative renewal, we would have nothing to write about. We invite your comments, suggestions and contributions of books and essays on the human journey. Please send them
from my message
form.
